It has been about 3 months since our last update. This was not our intention, but the blog site we were using previously experienced some technical challenges, which ultimately concluded with that site being permanently discontinued. If you are reading this post it means you’ve found our new site, where we’ll be posting updates and prayer requests as we inch closer to the day we travel to India to bring home our daughter! (Note: We were able to recover all of our posts from the previous website and migrate them over to this new one, in case you wanted to go back and see any of our previous updates.)
There is a button on our new blog to add your email address,
if you are interested in receiving an emailed notification any time we post an
update. (If viewing from your phone, click on the 3 lines in the top right).
In our last post (May 30th) we shared that we had been successfully
matched with our little girl! At the time of match she was 7 months old, and is
now about 10 months old. We pray for her every day and wait longingly to bring
her home!
The updates that we would have posted during this time are:
- We filed the I-800 to USCIS on June 7, and received approval on July 25
- We received our Article 5 Letter from the US on August 9
- India issued their No Objection Certificate (NOC) on August 28! (This was a big prayer request for us, and we are thankful for those of you who were aware and praying!)
We are now waiting on the Indian court process to keep our case moving forward. We have heard from a number of sources that this can often be a slow process, and one that doesn’t always follow a logical progression. But, we also have it on good authority that our God is mighty and his plans are mightier than the ways of men! We are trusting that He will unite us with our daughter in His perfect timing!
Right now we are making sure all of our documentation stays
up-to-date, and are anticipating possibility traveling to India this Winter, or
in the Spring. We won’t know until the time is upon us, but we will be sure to keep
you all updated with any news that we hear about the progress!
